Intro:

Tzatziki is one of those things that shows up casually on the side of a plate… and ends up stealing the show. It’s creamy, garlicky, herby, and cold in the best way — exactly what you want when the food is hot and the weather is warm.

Bowl of creamy tzatziki topped with olives and dill, next to slices of pita bread on a rustic wooden surface.

Whether you’re dipping bread (we recommend Greek pita bread), spooning it over grilled veggies, or just eating it straight from the bowl (no judgment), tzatziki has a way of making everything feel more put together.

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (full-fat, strained if needed)

  • 1 small cucumber, grated

  • 1–2 garlic cloves, finely minced

  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill (or mint, or both)

  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp vinegar or lemon juice

  • Salt to taste

How to Make It:

  1. Grate the cucumber, then squeeze out as much water as you can. You want tzatziki, not cucumber soup.

  2. Mix the yogurt, cucumber, garlic, dill, olive oil, and vinegar/lemon juice in a bowl.

  3. Add salt, taste, and adjust. Chill it for a bit if you’ve got time — the flavors get better.

  4. Finish with a swirl of Olive3 olive oil before serving.

How to Serve It:

Serve it next to grilled meat, roasted veggies, warm pita, or on top of rice bowls. It’s also perfect as a spread in sandwiches or wraps.

Tips:

  • If you like it thicker, strain the yogurt or use labneh.

  • Garlic level is up to you. Just remember: raw garlic gets stronger the longer it sits.

  • Fresh herbs matter — dried dill won’t cut it here.
